About

We spend most of our lives at work. Leaders decide what that feels like.

I'm an Assistant Professor of Management in the Williams College of Business at Xavier University in Cincinnati, where I've taught since 2023. Before that, I spent four years on the faculty at Middle Tennessee State University. I earned my PhD from Florida State University in 2019, where I studied under Jerry Ferris and Gang Wang and specialized in leadership. My dissertation looked at how leaders help their organizations send a clear, consistent message to employees.

Leaders have a massive effect on how happy and fulfilled we are at work. Since we spend so much of our lives working, I believe leaders should be doing everything in their power to make work as fulfilling as it can be. That belief drives my research, my teaching, and the work I do with organizations.

Outside of work, I'm a husband and a dad to three kids, plus one dog. We spend a lot of our free time exploring creeks and watching movies together. I'm also a big soccer fan. I watch and play as much as I can, and I volunteer as a youth soccer coach.
